Euroventures Ukraine Team operates out of two offices; a head office in Kyiv and a support office in Amsterdam. The local team in Kyiv is led by Mr. Leslie Hawrylyshyn and Mr. Valeriy Schekaturov; they are supported by a partner, Lyubomyr Vasylyev, an associate partner, Alexander Petroschuk, and two investment managers, Vitaliy Myloshyk and Oleksandr Cheredayko.

In the Amsterdam office, two senior venture capital investors, Mr. Frits van der Have and Mr. Martijn Kleijwegt, associate partners, with outstanding investment track records, are supervising and coordinating the investment process. Additional support from this office is provided by financial and legal professionals.
Leslie Hawrylyshyn, Co-Managing Partner (Kyiv)

 Mr. Leslie Hawrylyshyn is a Swiss senior venture capitalist with Ukrainian background. Mr. Hawrylyshyn has been in the venture capital business since 1984. He started his career as a commercial banker, working for the Bank of Montreal in Canada and Citibank in Switzerland for several years. His functions included monitoring European exposure, coordinating loans to portfolio companies and all credit aspects including overdraft lines, forex lines, as well as medium and long-term financing facilities.

As a venture capitalist, he co-founded and managed 3 venture funds with a total volume of capitalization in excess of US$ 100 million. During his venture capital career he invested in more than 50 companies ranging from consumer goods to electronic manufacturing and took an active role in boosting their development. Mr. Hawrylyshyn played an active role in the management of portfolio companies. He was a board member and president of 4 portfolio companies in Euroventures Switzerland's three funds. Mr. Hawrylyshyn has built up a strong working relationship with leading European financial institutions. He served on the Board of Directors of the EVCA (European Venture Capital association) for 4 years and is on the board of six Emerging Market funds managed by Fabien Pictet & Partners.

Valeriy Schekaturov, Co-Managing Partner (Kyiv)

 Mr. Schekaturov has been in the private equity business in the CIS (primarily in Ukraine) since 1992 and is responsible for managing Euroventures Ukraine.

Prior to joining Euroventures Ukraine in early 1999, he was a Managing Partner of Claflin Capital Management, co-managing the Ukraine Fund LLC, a US$ 22.5 million venture capital fund. In this capacity Mr. Schekaturov was responsible for the investment operation of the Ukraine Fund, including identification, negotiation, execution, implementation and exit of transactions.

As a General Partner of Euroventures Ukraine, Valeriy serves on the Board of Directors of five companies. Mr. Schekaturov is a member of the Ukrainian Venture Capital Association and European Business Association (EBA).

Mr. Schekaturov is Ukrainian and was educated at Moscow Higher Technical University and received his degree in aeronautical engineering.

Lyubomyr Vasylyev, Partner, CFO (Kyiv)

 Mr. Vasylyev joined Euroventures Ukraine in September 2002 as an Internal Financial Controller.

Prior to joining Euroventures Ukraine, Mr. Lyubomyr Vasylyev worked for nine years at Arthur Andersen as an Assurance and Business Advisory Manager, initially in Kyiv and then in Sofia, Bulgaria. His experience includes financial due diligence and participation in audit planning and risk assessment activities.

Mr. Vasylyev is a certified auditor (Ukrainian Chamber of Auditors), a student of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Ukrainian Professional Federation of Accountants and Auditors (UPFAA).

He received his Masters degree in economics at the Ukrainian Institute of International Relations at Kyiv State University.

Alexander Petroschuk, Associate Partner (Kyiv)

 Mr. Alexander Petroschuk joined Euroventures Ukraine in February 2001. Mr. Petroschuk is in the private equity industry since late 1995. During his investment career, Alexander participated in a dozen projects and has a good experience in portfolio development as well as valuable experience in turnaround situations.

Prior to Euroventures Ukraine, Alexander worked for Western NIS Enterprise Fund - a USD 150 million private equity fund based in Ukraine. His experience also includes work for Foyil Asset Management - an offshore fund management company targeting investment opportunities around the world. Prior to the investment business, Alexander worked for a private consulting group in Ukraine and as a lead engineer in a telecom company.

Mr. Petroschuk has well established links with the local business community and authorities. In 2005 - 2006, he served as an advisor to the Chairman of the Board of NJSC "Nadra Ukrainy" at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Mr. Petroschuk received his BA degree in electromechanical engineering at the Naval Academy in St. Petersburg (Russia), and an MBA degree at the International Management Institute in Kyiv.

Vitaliy Myloshyk, Investment Manager (Kyiv)

 Mr. Vitaliy Myloshyk joined Euroventures Ukraine in June 2006. Prior to joining Euroventures, Vitaliy worked almost 3 years as an Associate with Raiffeisen Investment Ukraine, a subsidiary of the Austrian Investment Bank. Vitaliy's responsibilities included search and analysis of investment opportunities, deal origination and execution. He participated in a number of large privatization projects in Ukraine (Rivneazot, Krivorozhstal, Crimean Soda Plant etc.) and in other countries (privatization of Vitkovice Steel in the Czech Republic and Erdemir Steel Mill in Turkey).

Before Raiffeisen, Vitaliy was employed with TNK-Ukraine (a Ukrainian subsidiary of TNK-BP, Russia), where he was responsible for evaluation and monitoring the company's investments. His experience also includes work as a research analyst for Foyil Asset Management, where he participated in the sale of the Ukrainian Cement Company and the brewery Rogan to strategic investors. Vitaliy graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv with an MA degree in Economics. 

Oleksandr Cheredayko, Investment Manager (Kyiv)

 Mr. Cheredayko joined Euroventures Ukraine team in April 2008. Prior to joining the team, Oleksandr had been working as an Investment Analyst for over a year at Horizon Capital, another private equity fund in Ukraine. Oleksandr participated in a few due diligences of financial companies in Ukraine and neighbouring countries and has already built up solid experience in investments valuation, due diligence and industry research.

Oleksandr is a graduate with distinction of CEU Business School (Soros University) in Budapest and of the National Agricultural University of Ukraine.

 

Sacha Pictet, Financial Analyst (Kyiv)

 Mr. Pictet graduated from Aiglon College in Switzerland to take a place at the University of Connecticut in 2003 to study political science. Following the US he attended the European Business School at Regents College in London to study International Business until 2007.

Subsequent to University Sacha held a job as a Junior Analyst at EIM Group, a fund of hedge funds in London with USD 13 billion under management. In the summer of 2007 Mr. Pictet joined IMG, the largest Sports Marketing and Media Company in the world as a Research Analyst in their official in-house research branch Comperio Research. He joined Fabien Pictet & Partners in March 2008 with a prospect to join Euroventures Ukraine as an Investment Analyst with an objective and to ameliorate mediation processes between co-investors.

 

Frits van der Have, Associate Partner (Amsterdam) 

As a General Partner of Euroventures Benelux, Mr. Frits van der Have was responsible for 9 of the Fund's portfolio companies. Given his broad and long experience in the European Venture Capital industry, he served on the Board of Directors of those companies in most cases. Mr. Van der Have was inter alia responsible for Euroventures successful investment in Biora, a Swedish dental biotech company, which did a successful IPO in 1997. At the end of 1998 with two colleagues he founded the first specialized biotechnology fund, Life Sciences Partners B.V. in the Netherlands.

In addition, Mr. Van der Have is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of two companies not belonging to the Euroventures portfolio, and he is the vice-chairman of the Board of the Dutch Venture Capital Association, the NVP. Further, he holds a seat on the Supervisory Board of IT Partners, a USD 75 million specialized IT Venture Capital Fund. Mr. Van der Have possesses strong analytical and negotiating skills, and has built up a vast network within the international financial community.

Martijn Kleijwegt, Associate Partner (Amsterdam)
   
Martijn Kleijwegt gained extensive experience in the venture capital industry as a General Partner of Euroventures Benelux, a USD 100 million pan-European venture capital fund based in the Netherlands. In that capacity, Martijn served on the Board of Directors of six biotechnology companies, including a.o. Qiagen, Quadrant, and Rhein Biotech.

Through 14 investments in the life sciences sector, Martijn gained extensive experience in all aspects of biotech venture capital, including selection and analysis, acquisition and exit negotiations, and coordination and due diligence. He has been primarily responsible for realizing the high return of the Euroventures Life Sciences portfolio and in 1998 founded the first specialized biotechnology fund in the Netherlands.
